About This Game

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. It follows the young hero Link as he travels through time to stop the evil Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce and conquering Hyrule.

Story

Link, a boy raised in the Kokiri Forest, is entrusted with the task of stopping the evil Ganondorf from claiming the Triforce. Guided by the Princess Zelda and the mysterious Sheikah, Link travels through time, collecting the three Spiritual Stones to gain access to the Sacred Realm. After pulling the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, he is sealed away for seven years, during which Ganondorf conquers Hyrule. As an adult, Link awakens, defeats the bosses in the dungeons, awakens the Six Sages, and ultimately confronts Ganondorf in his castle, sealing him away and restoring peace to the kingdom.

Guide & Tips

Begin in Kokiri Forest, obtain the Kokiri Sword and Shield, then venture into the Lost Woods to meet Saria. After acquiring the Fairy Ocarina, leave the forest and travel to Hyrule Castle to warn Princess Zelda. Complete the three Spiritual Stone quests in the Forest, Fire, and Water Temples, then draw the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, which seals you away for seven years. As adult Link, revisit the temples as dungeons, defeat the bosses, and collect the Six Medallions. Finally, infiltrate Ganon's Castle, defeat Ganondorf, and restore peace to Hyrule.

Nintendo 64 Controller: Analog Stick – Move / Aim; A Button – Action (talk, pick up, use item); B Button – Sword Attack; Z Target (L Button) – Lock-on / Target; C-Up – Look Up; C-Down – Look Down; C-Left – Strafe Left; C-Right – Strafe Right; Start – Pause Menu.

Trivia

Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game to use 3D graphics and introduced the innovative Z-targeting lock-on system, which became a staple in 3D action games. It won numerous awards, including Game of the Year from multiple publications, and has sold over 7.6 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling Nintendo 64 titles.
