About This Game

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is a 2008 action‑platformer for the Nintendo DS and the third DS entry in the long‑running Castlevania series. Developed by Konami, it follows Shanoa, a member of the mysterious Order of Ecclesia, who must collect and absorb magical glyphs to gain powers and stop Dracula’s revival.

Story

In the early 1800s, the Order of Ecclesia seeks to stop Dracula’s resurrection by using the dominant glyph, a power capable of sealing the vampire lord. Shanoa volunteers to become the glyph’s bearer, but the ritual fails, causing her to lose her memories. She awakens with only a mysterious tattoo and sets out to recover her past, collect the scattered glyphs, and ultimately confront Dracula to protect humanity.

Guide & Tips

Explore each map thoroughly to find hidden glyphs, items, and secret rooms. Combine different glyphs to create powerful attacks (e.g., Sword + Flame = Fire Sword, Lance + Ice = Ice Lance). Save frequently, especially before boss encounters, and use the save rooms to restore HP and MP. Use the back‑dash (down + B) to evade enemy attacks and navigate tight spaces. Refer to the map often; unexplored rooms are marked in red.

Trivia

First Castlevania game to introduce the glyph‑absorption system, allowing players to mix and match abilities. Shanoa is the series’ first playable female protagonist. The soundtrack was composed by longtime series composer Michiru Yamane, featuring a rearranged version of the classic “Bloody Tears” theme. The Japanese title literally translates to “Castlevania: Gallery of Labyrinth”. The game was later re‑released on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2014.
