About This Game
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project is a side-scrolling beat 'em up released for the NES in 1991. Players control one of the four turtles, each with unique weapons, to fight through New York City and stop Shredder's plan to shrink the Statue of Liberty.
Story
Shredder and his ally Krang have devised a plan to shrink the Statue of Liberty using a mysterious device, intending to hold New York City for ransom. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must infiltrate the enemy's stronghold, defeat waves of Foot Clan soldiers and mutants, and destroy the device before the statue is reduced to a miniature.
Guide & Tips
• Each turtle has a different weapon: Leonardo (katana), Raphael (sai), Donatello (bo staff), Michelangelo (nunchaku). Switch turtles with the Select button to match the enemy type. • Use jump attacks (A + directional input) to hit airborne foes. • Collect pizza slices scattered throughout levels to restore health. • Save your continues by avoiding unnecessary damage; the game grants a continue after every two levels if you have at least one life left. • Boss patterns are predictable: learn their attack tells and counter with the turtle whose weapon has the longest reach (usually Donatello).

Cheats & Passwords
• Konami Code (30 Lives): At the title screen, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, then Start. • Level Select: At the title screen, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A (same as Konami Code) without pressing Start; the game will start at the selected level when you press Start afterward. • Invincibility (Pause Cheat): Pause the game, then press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Resume play to gain temporary invincibility.
Trivia
• This was the final Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game released on the NES platform. • The game's soundtrack was composed by Nobuyuki Matsuda, who also worked on the earlier TMNT NES titles. • Despite being a late-era NES title, it still uses the classic Konami code for cheats, a homage to the publisher's legacy.
