About This Game
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Manhattan Project is a side-scrolling action game where the four turtles battle Shredder's forces to prevent his plan to destroy Manhattan.
Story
Shredder has devised a plan to destroy Manhattan with a powerful device. The Turtles must infiltrate his stronghold, defeat his minions, and stop the Manhattan Project before the city is razed.
Guide & Tips
Learn each turtle's unique weapon: Leonardo uses katana, Donatello uses bo staff, Michelangelo uses nunchaku, Raphael uses sai. Use jump attacks to hit airborne enemies, avoid pits and hazards, and remember you can switch turtles with Select to match the situation. Keep an eye on extra lives and continues scattered throughout stages.
Controls
D-pad: Move; A: Jump; B: Attack; Start: Pause; Select: Switch Turtle (if available).
Cheats & Passwords
At the title screen, input the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start) to start with 30 lives.
Trivia
The Japanese version was titled 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles II: The Manhattan Project' due to censorship of the word 'Ninja'. It was also the first TMNT NES game to allow the player to switch between turtles mid‑level.
