About This Game

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a tactical role-playing game where players control Ramza and his friends in the magical world of Ivalice. The game features a unique judge system, extensive job classes, and strategic turn-based combat on grid-based battlefields.

Story

When a group of friends stumble upon an ancient tome called the Gran Grimoire, they are transported into the magical world of Ivalice where they become the legendary heroes who once saved the land. However, their presence disrupts the world's delicate balance, and they must uncover the truth behind their summoning while fighting against corrupt nobles and ancient evils threatening to consume both worlds.

Guide & Tips

Focus on mastering the Reaction Ability system early - learn powerful reactions like Strike Back and Counter. Complete the main storyline first to unlock more areas and missions. Pay attention to the law cards in each battle; breaking laws gives bonus AP but may anger the judge. For quick leveling, use the Beastery skill with 100 JP and fight weak monsters repeatedly in areas like the Germinas Gulch.

Controls

D-Pad: Move cursor/Navigate menus. A Button: Confirm/Select/Attack. B Button: Cancel/Back/Wait command. L Button: Rotate camera view/Previous unit. R Button: Next unit/Quick map view. Start: Open main menu/Speed up message display. Select: Toggle between units.

Cheats & Passwords

At the main menu, press: UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT to unlock all secret characters and the Sound Test menu. For infinite Gil, enter: DOWN, UP, RIGHT, LEFT, A, B at the title screen. To unlock the secret 'Strongest' difficulty, complete the game and then hold L+R when starting a new game.

Trivia

The game was originally going to feature characters from Final Fantasy VII and VIII, but this was changed to avoid confusing players. Marche's outfit is based on Squall's design from FFVIII, which explains the similarity. The 'Laws' system was inspired by the Thief class mechanics from earlier Final Fantasy games. The game also includes a hidden multiplayer mode that allows up to 4 players to battle together using the GBA link cable.
