About This Game
The Legend of Zelda is an action-adventure game where players control Link as he explores the land of Hyrule, collects items, defeats monsters, and seeks to rescue Princess Zelda and defeat the evil Ganon.
Guide & Tips
Begin by acquiring the wooden sword in the starting area. Explore the overworld to find heart containers that increase your health. Locate the eight dungeons, each guarded by a boss; defeat the boss to obtain a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. Use the map and compass found in each dungeon to navigate. Collect key items such as the boomerang, bow, and magic rod to overcome obstacles and enemies. After gathering all eight Triforce pieces, enter Ganon's lair in Death Mountain, defeat him, and rescue Princess Zelda.
Controls
D-Pad: Move Link; A Button: Swing sword / use selected item; B Button: Use secondary item / cancel; Start Button: Pause game and open subscreen; Select Button: No function.
Trivia
The original NES Legend of Zelda was the first home console game to use battery-backed save memory, allowing players to continue their progress. It was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, and its success helped establish Nintendo as a dominant force in the gaming industry. The game's iconic overworld theme was composed by Koji Kondo.
