About This Game
DuckTales is a side‑scrolling platformer where players control Scrooge McDuck as he travels across exotic locales to collect treasures and defeat bosses.
Story
Inspired by the Disney cartoon, Scrooge McDuck learns that the world's legendary treasures have been stolen by Flintheart Glomgold and the Beagle Boys. He embarks on a globe‑trotting quest to recover them, journeying through jungles, mines, haunted castles, and even the Moon, facing off against their guardians and ultimately confronting the mastermind behind the theft.
Guide & Tips
Use the D‑Pad to move Scrooge left/right and up/down on ladders. Press A to jump and B to swing his cane to attack enemies or break blocks. Collect diamonds and treasures scattered throughout each stage to increase your score. At the end of each level, defeat the stage boss by learning its pattern and striking when vulnerable. After completing the five worlds (Amazon, African Mines, Transylvania, The Moon, and the final showdown), face the ultimate villain to reclaim the lost riches.
Controls
D‑Pad: Move / Aim; A Button: Jump; B Button: Swing Cane (attack); Start: Pause; Select: Switch item (if any).
Trivia
The game was developed by Capcom and released in 1989. Its music was composed by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, who later contributed to the Mega Man series. DuckTales was one of the early NES titles to use a password‑less continue system, allowing players to resume from the last level after a game over.
