About This Game

Story

Guide & Tips
Start by choosing your starter Pokémon (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile) and progress through Johto region gyms. Use the in-game clock to encounter time-based events. Visit the Ruins of Alph to solve puzzles and get Unown. Complete the Pokédex by trading with other versions. For fast leveling, rematch trainers on the route near Violet City using VS Seeker. Post-game content includes the Battle Tower and catching legendary beasts like Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.

D-Pad: Move character/Navigate menus. A Button: Confirm/Interact/Select. B Button: Cancel/Back/Run from battle. Start: Open menu/Pause. Select: Quick key item access. Press A+B+Start+Select simultaneously for soft reset.

Trivia
Pokémon Crystal was the first Pokémon game to feature animated sprites in battles and the first to allow players to choose their character's gender. In Japan, it included mobile phone connectivity through the Mobile GB Adapter for trading and accessing special events. The game's cartridge size was 64 megabits, making it one of the larger GBC games. Celebi could only be obtained legitimately through a special event distribution.
