About This Game

The Tower of Druaga is an early action‑role‑playing game where the player controls the hero Gilgamesh as he ascends a 60‑floor tower filled with monsters, traps, and treasures to rescue the maiden Ki from the demon Druaga.

Story

The evil demon Druaga has kidnapped the maiden Ki and sealed her within the highest floor of his tower. The hero Gilgamesh, armed with his trusty sword, ventures into the 60‑story Tower of Druaga to defeat the demon’s minions, uncover hidden treasures, and rescue Ki before Druaga’s darkness spreads across the land.

Guide & Tips

• Learn each enemy’s attack pattern; many can be avoided by timing your moves. • Collect keys on each floor to unlock the door to the next level. • Use potions (found in chests) to restore health when low. • Some floors hide special items that appear only after performing a specific action (e.g., standing still for a few seconds or hitting a wall). • Save your progress often via the password system; note the password displayed after completing a floor.

Controls

D‑Pad: Move Gilgamesh A Button: Attack (sword swing) B Button: Use selected item (key, potion, etc.) Start Button: Pause game Select Button: No function

Trivia

• Originally released in arcades in 1984, the NES version is a faithful ports of the classic. • The game’s emphasis on exploration and item collection heavily influenced later titles such as 'The Legend of Zelda' and 'Dragon Quest'. • Each floor contains a secret 'hidden item' that appears only after a specific, often obscure, action—these secrets spawned a long‑lasting tradition of hunting for hidden content in games.
