About This Game

Zoda's Revenge - StarTropics II is the sequel to the classic NES adventure StarTropics. Players control Mike Jones as he travels across various islands and time periods, solving puzzles, battling enemies, and uncovering the mystery behind the alien warlord Zoda.

Story

Mike Jones receives a distress signal from his uncle, Dr. J, warning that the evil alien warlord Zoda has returned with a plan to conquer Earth. Armed with his trusty yo-yo and new gadgets, Mike must journey across strange islands, ancient ruins, and futuristic bases to gather the fragments of the Celestial Archive and stop Zoda's revenge.

Guide & Tips

Use the D-pad to move Mike Jones. Press A to jump or interact with objects, and B to use your current weapon or item. Start pauses the game and brings up the menu, while Select can be used to view your map or inventory. Talk to NPCs, collect items, and solve the letter‑substitution puzzles to progress through each chapter.

Trivia

StarTropics II was never released in Japan, making it a North America and Europe exclusive. The game features a unique letter‑substitution puzzle system that was also used in its manual as a copy‑protection measure. It was later re‑released on the Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console services.
