About This Game
Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World is a GBA port of the classic Super Nintendo game, featuring enhanced graphics and additional content including Mario's Super Picross.
Story
Bowser has kidnapped Princess Toadstool and taken her to his castle in Dinosaur Land. Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi must traverse diverse worlds filled with enemies, puzzles, and power-ups to defeat Bowser and save the princess in this enhanced remake of the beloved SNES platformer.
Guide & Tips
Explore Dinosaur Land to rescue Princess Toadstool. Collect all 96 exits (including secret exits) to unlock the Special World. In Yoshi's Island, eat enemies with Yoshi and use flutter jump to reach higher areas. Complete Mario's Super Picross puzzles using logic to reveal hidden Mario-themed images.
Controls
GBA standard controls: D-Pad for movement, A button for jump, B button for run/speed, L/R buttons for camera control in Picross mode, START for pause menu, SELECT toggles Picross grid visibility.
Cheats & Passwords
Access Level Select by holding L+R at the file select screen to highlight the 'EXIT' option. In Picross mode, press SELECT during puzzle solving to reveal the completed image outline for easier completion. The original game's warp zones remain functional: from Yoshi's Island 2, use the P-switch to access the top key in the first castle.
Trivia
This compilation includes both the enhanced Super Mario World and the exclusive Japanese-only Mario's Super Picross. Yoshi was originally designed as a green dinosaur but changed to his now-iconic design after the SNES version. The 'Bear Group' reference in the title relates to a secret formation of enemies in certain levels, and the 32Mb cartridge made it one of the largest GBA games at launch.
