About This Game

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis is a tactical role-playing game for the Game Boy Advance. It is a side story set in the same universe as the original Tactics Ogre, focusing on a young knight of the Lodis Empire who becomes embroiled in political intrigue and war.

Story

Alphonse Loeher, a bright-eyed cadet of the Lodis Empire, is dispatched to the borderlands to investigate a rising rebellion. As he leads his squad into battle, he uncovers a web of conspiracy involving corrupt nobles, ancient relics, and a looming war that threatens to engulf the entire continent. Loyalties are tested, friendships forged, and the young knight must decide where his true allegiance lies.

Guide & Tips

The game uses turn-based, grid-based combat. Position your units wisely to gain terrain advantages and exploit enemy weaknesses. Each unit belongs to a class (e.g., Swordman, Archer, Mage) that can be upgraded through experience and job changes. Manage your squad's equipment and skills between battles, and pay attention to the morale system, which affects unit performance. Save frequently, as some decisions can alter story branches and endings.

Controls

D-Pad: Move cursor / select unit A: Confirm action / open menu B: Cancel / go back L/R: Switch between unit pages or rotate map Start: Pause game / open options Select: Quick menu (if available)

Trivia

The game was released in Japan on June 21, 2001, and later localized for North America and Europe in 2002. It is the only Tactics Ogre title to appear on a Nintendo handheld, and its soundtrack was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, who also worked on the original Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics.
