About This Game

Metroid: Zero Mission is a 2004 action-adventure game for the Game Boy Advance. It is a remake of the original 1986 NES title Metroid, featuring updated graphics, new abilities, and additional story elements while retaining the classic non-linear exploration and power-up progression.

Story

Samus Aran is sent to the planet Zebes to investigate Space Pirate activity. After infiltrating their base, she discovers the Pirates are attempting to revive the deadly Metroid creatures. Samus must acquire new power-ups, defeat the Pirates' leaders, and ultimately destroy the Mother Brain to prevent the Metroids from spreading across the galaxy.

Guide & Tips

Begin by exploring the starting area to acquire the Morph Ball and Bombs. Use the Morph Ball to navigate tight passages and reach hidden upgrades. Defeat early bosses like Ridley to obtain the Varia Suit, which reduces damage. Continue to collect the Power Beam, Ice Beam, Wave Beam, and Plasma Beam to overcome different enemy types and obstacles. Save frequently at save stations, and use the map (Select) to track unexplored rooms. The final goal is to defeat Mother Brain and escape Zebes.

Controls

D-Pad: Move; A: Jump / Fire; B: Missile; L: Aim Up; R: Aim Down; Start: Pause; Select: Map.

Trivia

Metroid: Zero Mission was the first Metroid title to include a true save-anywhere system via save stations, and it introduced the ability to play the original NES Metroid as a bonus unlockable after completing the game. The game's development team included several members from the original Metroid II: Return of Samus team.
