About This Game

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a 2003 action-platformer game for the Game Boy Advance, developed and published by Konami. Players control Soma Cruz as he explores Dracula's castle, collects souls from enemies to gain abilities, and uncovers his destiny as the dark lord's reincarnation.

Story

Set in 2035, the game follows Soma Cruz, a transfer student who visits Dracula's castle during a solar eclipse and discovers he is the reincarnation of Count Dracula. As he explores the castle, he must defeat the forces trying to revive the dark lord and decide his own fate.

Controls

D-Pad: Move; A: Jump; B: Attack; L/R: Use Soul Abilities; Start: Pause; Select: Open Menu.

Trivia

Aria of Sorrow introduced the 'Soul' system, allowing players to collect enemy souls to gain abilities, a mechanic that became a hallmark of later Castlevania titles. It was the final Castlevania game produced by Koji Igarashi for the GBA and features music by longtime series composer Michiru Yamane.
