About This Game
Super Mario 64 DS is a Nintendo DS remake of the classic Nintendo 64 title Super Mario 64, featuring updated graphics, touch-screen controls, and four playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi.
Story
Bowser has invaded Princess Peach's Castle, sealed her away within its walls, and scattered Power Stars throughout the worlds inside the paintings. Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi must venture into these worlds, collect the stars, and restore the castle's power to confront Bowser and rescue the princess.
Guide & Tips
Begin by collecting Power Stars in each course to unlock new doors in Peach's Castle. Each character has unique abilities: Mario is balanced, Luigi jumps higher, Wario can break certain blocks, and Yoshi can eat enemies. Use the touch screen to adjust the camera or aim throws. Complete all main courses, collect 120 stars, and defeat Bowser in the final showdown to rescue Princess Peach.
Controls
D-pad: Move character; A: Jump / interact; B: Punch / pick up / throw; X: Camera rotate left; Y: Camera rotate right; L: Center camera behind character; R: Toggle lock-on camera (optional); Start: Pause / menu; Select: Show map / switch character (in pause). Touch screen: Adjust camera aim or use in mini-games.
Trivia
Super Mario 64 DS was the first 3D Mario game to appear on a handheld console and introduced new mini-games that utilize the DS's touch screen and microphone. It also features a multiplayer mode where up to four players can compete in versus mini-games using a single cartridge.
