About This Game
Electroplankton is an interactive music video game that allows players to create and manipulate sounds by touching various plankton‑like creatures on the touch screen. There are ten different species, each offering a unique way to generate audio through touch, movement, and rhythm.
Story
Electroplankton has no traditional story; it is an interactive audio artwork designed by Toshio Iwai that invites players to explore sound and rhythm through playful interaction with on‑screen plankton.
Guide & Tips
Use the stylus to touch and drag the plankton on the screen. Each species reacts differently: some produce tones when tapped, others create loops when traced, and some respond to rhythmic tapping. Access the species menu with the D‑pad or stylus, press A to confirm a selection, and B to go back. Press Start to pause the current session.
Controls
Touch Screen – primary interaction via stylus. D‑Pad – navigate menus and select plankton species. A Button – confirm selection. B Button – cancel/back. Start Button – pause/resume. L/R – (optional) switch color palettes in some species.
