About This Game
Harvest Moon DS (known in Japan as 新牧场物语 完美版) is a farming simulation RPG for the Nintendo DS. Players inherit a dilapidated farm and must cultivate crops, raise livestock, befriend townsfolk, participate in festivals, and eventually restore the village to prosperity while pursuing romance and marriage.
Story
You arrive in Forget-Me-Not Valley to take over your grandfather's abandoned farm. The once‑thriving village has fallen into disrepair, and the townspeople have lost hope. By working the land, raising animals, befriending residents, and participating in festivals, you aim to revive the valley, restore the farm’s glory, and perhaps find love and start a family of your own.
Guide & Tips
Start by clearing weeds and tilling the field near your house. Plant fast‑growing crops like turnips or potatoes to earn early money. Upgrade your tools as soon as you can to improve efficiency. Befriend villagers by giving them gifts they like (check the gift list in the menu) and attend their heart events. Participate in seasonal festivals to win prizes and increase your farm’s reputation. Keep an eye on stamina and fatigue; rest at home or eat food to recover. Save often using the diary.
