About This Game
Romance of the Three Kingdoms DS 2 is a turn‑based strategy game released for the Nintendo DS, part of Koei’s long‑running Sangokushi series. Players assume the role of a warlord during the turbulent end of the Han dynasty, managing cities, armies, and diplomacy to unify China.
Story
Set during the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty and the ensuing Three Kingdoms period, the game lets players step into the shoes of famous warlords such as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan—or create an original lord. Through a blend of city management, troop training, diplomacy, and real‑time tactical battles, the ultimate goal is to bring the fractured lands under a single ruler’s control and achieve the unification of China.
Guide & Tips
Begin by selecting a modest lord or creating a custom ruler. Prioritize developing agriculture and commerce in your home city to increase gold and food supplies. Build barracks and train troops early, but keep a balanced army to avoid overextension. Use diplomacy to form alliances or non‑aggression pacts with neighboring factions before engaging in war. When battle starts, deploy infantry to hold the line, cavalry for flanking, and archers for ranged support. Pay attention to terrain bonuses and weather effects. Regularly visit the council to appoint competent officers and upgrade their skills. Save often, as a single defeat can set you back significantly.

Trivia
The DS version makes use of the dual screens: the top screen shows the strategic map while the bottom screen displays detailed information and touch‑based controls. Although primarily released in Japan, a Traditional Chinese edition was distributed for Taiwan and Hong Kong markets, making it one of the few Koei titles to receive an official Chinese localization on the DS.
