About This Game

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation is a classic turn-based RPG released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Players control a hero who awakens in a dream world with no memory and must travel between the real world and the dream realm to uncover their destiny and save both worlds from evil.

Story

The hero awakens in a peaceful dream village with no recollection of their past. Guided by a mysterious voice, they learn that the world they inhabit is only one half of a greater reality—a dream world that mirrors the real world. As they venture between realms, they discover an ancient evil threatening to merge the two worlds into chaos. By gathering allies, mastering diverse vocations, and uncovering the truth of their own identity, the hero must seal the darkness and restore balance to both worlds.

Guide & Tips

Begin by exploring the starting dream town, talk to every NPC to gather clues and receive quests. Use the Job Change system (unlocked after obtaining the Job Change facility) to switch between classes like Warrior, Mage, Thief, etc., each granting unique abilities. Balance your party by assigning complementary jobs. Save often at inns or using the Save point. When stuck, remember that many puzzles require you to switch between the real and dream worlds—items or characters may only exist in one realm. Stock up on healing herbs and antidotes, and consider using the Auto-Battle option for grinding lower-level enemies.

Trivia

The Super Famicom (SNES) version of Dragon Quest VI was never officially released outside Japan; this particular release uses a fan‑translated English menu with an additional Chinese translation, making it one of the few ways to experience the game in those languages on the original hardware.
