About This Game
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light is the inaugural title in the Fire Emblem series, a tactical role‑playing game where players command Prince Marth and his allies to reclaim the kingdom of Altea from the evil Dragon Medeus and his dark forces.
Story
The kingdom of Altea is invaded by the Dark Dragon Medeus, who seeks to shroud the world in darkness. Prince Marth, forced to flee after his father's death, gathers loyal knights and embarks on a quest to retrieve the sacred Blade of Light, the only weapon capable of defeating the dragon, and restore peace to the land.
Guide & Tips
Begin by completing the prologue to learn basic movement and combat. Each chapter is a turn‑based battle on a grid; position units to exploit weapon advantages (sword > axe > lance > sword). Keep Marth alive—if he falls, the game ends. Use the 'Wait' command to heal injured units, and seize villages for gold and items. Pay attention to enemy reinforcements that appear after certain turns. Save often via the password system.

Trivia
This game introduced the weapon triangle mechanic that became a staple of the series. It was never officially released outside Japan until the 2020 Nintendo Switch remake 'Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light'.
