About This Game
Pokémon Silver is the second installment in the Pokémon series for the Game Boy Color, set in the Johto region three years after the events of Pokémon Red/Blue. Players embark on a journey to become the Pokémon Champion while thwarting the plans of Team Rocket.
Story
Three years after the events of Pokémon Red/Blue, a new young trainer sets out from New Bark Town in the Johto region. Armed with a Pokédex from Professor Elm, the player aims to collect all eight Gym Badges, defeat the Elite Four, and become the Pokémon Champion. Meanwhile, the remnants of Team Rocket scheme to regain power, prompting the player to thwart their plans while encountering the legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-Oh, whose awakening is tied to the region’s day/night cycle.
Guide & Tips
Begin in New Bark Town, choose one of the three starter Pokémon (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile). Receive your Pokédex from Professor Elm, then travel through Johto’s cities and routes, collecting eight Gym Badges. After obtaining all badges, challenge the Elite Four at the Indigo Plateau and finally battle the Champion. Along the way, you can encounter and capture legendary Pokémon such as Lugia and Ho-Oh, and use the day/night system to access time‑specific events.

Trivia

It was also the first mainline Pokémon game to feature two distinct regions (Johto and Kanto) accessible after defeating the Elite Four.
