About This Game
Pokemon Gold is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for Game Boy Color. It is part of the second generation of Pokemon games and introduced 100 new Pokemon species.
Story
Players embark on a journey in the Johto region, aiming to become the Pokemon League Champion by collecting eight badges and defeating the Elite Four. Along the way, they must thwart Team Rocket's plans to exploit Pokemon for profit. After completing the main story, players can explore the Kanto region from the original Pokemon games.
Guide & Tips
Start by choosing your starter Pokemon (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile). Explore the Johto region, collect 8 badges from gym leaders, and challenge the Pokemon League. Complete your Pokedex by catching and trading for all Pokemon. After defeating the Elite Four, you can explore the Kanto region from the original Pokemon games.

Trivia
Pokemon Gold introduced the day/night system affecting which Pokemon appear, Pokemon breeding mechanics, and held items.
