About This Game
Pokémon Ruby is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. Set in the Hoenn region, players embark on a journey to become the Pokémon Champion while thwarting the plans of Team Magma and Team Aqua.
Story
The player, a young trainer from Littleroot Town, sets out to become the Pokémon Champion of the Hoenn region. Along the way they encounter two opposing teams: Team Magma, who seek to expand the landmass by awakening the ancient Pokémon Groudon, and Team Aqua, who wish to expand the sea by awakening Kyogre. The player must thwart both teams' plans, collect eight Gym Badges, defeat the Elite Four, and ultimately face the Champion Steven.
Guide & Tips
Begin in Littleroot Town, choose your starter (Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip). Follow the main story: obtain the first Gym badge in Rustboro City, then travel through Dewford, Slateport, Mauville, Verdanturf, Fallarbor, and Lilycove, collecting eight badges. Defeat Team Magma/Aqua at their hideouts, then challenge the Elite Four and Champion Steven. Don't forget to explore the Safari Zone, Battle Frontier (post-game), and catch Legendary Pokémon Groudon (Ruby) or Kyogre (if trading).

Trivia
Pokémon Ruby was the first main series game to introduce double battles, weather effects that affect gameplay (e.g., Drought, Drizzle), and the ability system. It also featured the first Pokémon with a gender difference (e.g., Nidoran♂/Nidoran♀) visible in the overworld sprites.
