About This Game

Pokémon Emerald is an enhanced version of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance, set in the Hoenn region. Players embark on a journey to become the Pokémon Champion while thwarting the plans of Team Aqua and Team Magma.

Story

You play as a young Trainer who moves to Littleroot Town in the Hoenn region. After receiving your first Pokémon from Professor Birch, you set out to collect Gym Badges, thwart the opposing plans of Team Aqua (seeking to expand the sea) and Team Magma (seeking to expand the land), and ultimately challenge the Pokémon League to become Champion.

Guide & Tips

Begin in Littleroot Town, choose your starter Pokémon (Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip). Follow the storyline by collecting eight Gym Badges, defeating the Elite Four, and becoming Champion. Explore the Battle Frontier after the main story for additional challenges.

Controls

D-Pad: Move; A: Confirm/Select/Jump; B: Cancel/Run; Start: Open Menu; Select: Toggle Running (if enabled).

Trivia

Pokémon Emerald was the first game in the series to feature both Team Aqua and Team Magma as antagonistic teams, and it introduced the Battle Frontier, a post-game facility with various battle facilities and challenges.
