About This Game
Shining Soul II is an action RPG dungeon crawler developed by Nextech and published by THQ for Game Boy Advance. Players create a character from different classes (Warrior, Elf, Mage, or Dwarf) and explore various dungeons to defeat the revived evil force. The game features hack-and-slash combat, character progression, equipment upgrades, and supports up to 4-player multiplayer via link cable.
Story
The game takes place in the kingdom of Valestine, where the ancient evil 'Dark Dragon' has been revived after a long slumber. The kingdom is in danger and needs heroes to venture into the mysterious dungeons, defeat the monsters, and stop the darkness from spreading. Four brave adventurers answer the call - each with their own reasons to fight.
Guide & Tips
General Tips: 1) Choose a character class that suits your playstyle - Warrior has high defense, Elf is balanced, Mage has powerful magic but low HP, Dwarf has high attack power. 2) Focus on upgrading your weapon at shops when possible. 3) Use the link cable to play with friends for easier progression. 4) Explore all rooms in dungeons to find hidden items and treasure. 5) Watch your HP and retreat when necessary to use potions.

D-Pad: Move character / Navigate menus; A Button: Attack / Confirm; B Button: Cancel / Use item; L Button: View map; R Button: Switch weapon; Start: Open menu; Select: Switch character (in multiplayer).
Trivia
Shining Soul II is part of Sega's 'Shining' series, though it was developed by Nextech rather than Climax. It was one of the few GBA titles to support 4-player multiplayer via link cable. The game was released in Japan in March 2004, North America in June 2004, and Europe in July 2004. The 128Mb cartridge size was relatively large for GBA games at the time.
