About This Game

Super Dodge Ball (known in Japan as Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball-bu) is a sports-action game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System where players control a high school dodgeball team, competing in matches against rival schools using throws, catches, and special moves.

Story

The game follows Kunio and his best friend Riki as they recruit fellow students to form the Nekketsu Kōkō dodgeball team. Determined to prove themselves, they enter the National High School Dodgeball Tournament, facing off against rival schools such as Hanazono, Torako, and the infamous Ishiyama squad. Through intense matches and growing camaraderie, they strive to win the championship and uphold the spirit of their school.

Guide & Tips

1. Start the game and choose a team (Kunio's team or another school). 2. Select a match mode: Exhibition, Tournament, or Practice. 3. Use the D-pad to move your player around the court. 4. Press the A button to throw the ball; hold longer for a stronger throw. 5. Press the B button to jump or to catch a thrown ball when timed correctly. 6. When you have the ball, you can pass to a teammate with A or attempt a special move by combining directions with A/B. 7. Aim for the opponent's body to score points; hitting the head yields more points but is harder. 8. Win matches by reducing the opposing team's players to zero or scoring more points before time runs out. 9. In Tournament mode, advance through brackets to face stronger schools and ultimately win the championship.

• The game is part of the long-running Kunio-kun series, which began with the arcade hit 'Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun'. • It was the first Kunio-kun title released on the Super Nintendo. • In Western markets, the game was published simply as 'Super Dodge Ball' by Technos, Inc. • The title screen features the series' iconic 'hot-blooded' slogan, reflecting the series' emphasis on passionate, high‑energy gameplay. • Several hidden characters from other Technos titles (like River City Ransom) can be unlocked via special codes in later re-releases.
