About This Game

Lagrange Point is a science‑fiction RPG released by Konami for the NES in 1991. Set in the late 21st century, the game follows a young cadet stationed at an Earth‑Moon L5 space colony who must investigate a mysterious loss of contact and uncover an alien threat lurking in the colony’s depths.

Guide & Tips

• Talk to every NPC – many give hints about item locations or upcoming events. • Manage your inventory carefully; healing items are scarce early on. • Use the ‘Wait’ command in dungeons to recover HP/MP when safe. • Save frequently using the built‑in battery backup; the game allows only one save slot. • When facing tough bosses, equip the highest‑defense armor and use status‑affecting spells (e.g., Sleep, Paralyze) to gain turns. • Explore side rooms for hidden chests that often contain rare equipment or money.

Controls

D‑Pad: Move character / navigate menus A Button: Confirm action / talk / use selected item B Button: Cancel / open menu / dash (when equipped) Start Button: Pause game / open main menu Select Button: Switch between character screens (if applicable)

Trivia

• Lagrange Point was one of the few NES RPGs to feature a battery‑backed save system, allowing players to save progress anywhere. • The game was released exclusively in Japan and never saw an official Western release. • Its soundtrack was composed by Konami’s renowned sound team, including Junya Nakano, who later worked on the Metal Gear Solid series. • Despite its RPG nature, the game uses a real‑time action‑style combat system reminiscent of early action‑RPGs like Zelda II.
